They always say that solo hiking isn’t for everyone. Now that I’ve done it, I understand why… but I also know that it’s definitely one hundred percent for me!
When Dan signed up for a reverse five ferry challenge starting from Wemys Bay and ending at Brodick, the main city on the Isle of Arran, I knew it was the perfect excuse for me to go do a whole day of walking. It’s been a while, Crocodile. I’m due an update on recent outings, so here’s a recap.
Since I got back from Aus, time passed in an eye-blink, but we managed to fit a lot in. My fake birthday on Leap Year Day; Stirling and the Wallace Monument; pitch-side rugby watching at Murrayfield (my first time!); my little brother and his girlfriend visiting us; games of Carcassone; Loch Awe, Oban, a fairy bridge and another one over the Atlantic; a drive through Glen Coe and the Trossachs; beginning to go for runs from work (and the resulting glorious sleep-ins in the mornings)… it’s been a very busy two weeks, but now I’m ready to slowly catch up with my photo folder.
It never rains, it pours: more this week than usual. I’m writing this from bed, weak and with a severe cough, listening to water drumming on the roof and gushing down the rain pipes. A good day to stay in bed and drink tea.
Edinburgh boasts numerous vintage fairs throughout the year, and a pretty decent selection of shops too, if you’re that way inclined. LouLou’s Vintage fair is just one of the many hosted at Assembly Rooms throughout the year, but also one of the biggest ones. Read on »
I survived the most of last week on ginger tea, ibuprofen and decongestants, so our weekend camping plans had to be postponed. But it’s not like us to give up completely! Especially not on the rare Scottish days when we’re graced with cloudless skies and stunning weather.
