Winter survival plan

Despite my best efforts to avoid any GoT cliches, I can really feel that winter is coming. In theory the fall equinox should be my favourite day of the year (best excuse for +1 hour of sleep that noone can argue with) but it invariably comes as a shock to the system.

I feel so conflicted every time I visit Barcelona, such a complicated place I have a complete love/hate relationship with.

I still remember very clearly the very first time I went, the very first day, standing on top of Park Güell, looking out over the city and calling my mother to tell her that I’m moving to Barcelona in six months’ time. At one point I lived and loved this vibrant city, used to know it both as a tourist and as a local, like the back of my hand.

Then I moved to Scotland and haven’t been back in absolute ages. D’s never even visited. So we flew out last Thursday and head back this arvo – stay tuned for a travel diary on Friday.

Finally, a proper getaway! This year hasn’t been as packed with city breaks as the last so I was positively giddy heading down to London Town for the weekend.
